DIY Bridal Makeup

It can be done!

There are 2 schools of thought regarding wedding day make up;

Splurge on the most special day of your life and ensure perfect make up and hair for the bridal party
OR
Save a substantial amount of cash and do your own.

Whatever your choice; don't stress yourself out over creating your perfect bridal look. There is plenty of help out there.

YouTube Tutorials

This is Sona Gasparian's Bridal Makeup tutorial, one of thousands available on YouTube for every look. Take notes when watching these. Get the same brushes and products (or as close as you can get).

This is where free samples from David Jones and Myer beauty counters and company websites come in.

Take a Class

Every capital city will have a make up class on offer somewhere. Since I live in Sydney I can only recommend the 1 hour Napoleon Perdis personal make up consultation at $99. An artist spends the hour with you to determine a look and teach you how to do it. $99 worth of product is thrown in.

Book through RedBallon.com.au for occasional discounts - right now it is only $87!

Napoleon Perdis also do a One Day Workshop "Papparazzi Ready" for $250 that I can't recommend highly enough for anyone with an interest in upgrading their make up skills.

WeddingDressBee for Me!

I wanted to look a million bucks on my special day for a few hundred but didn't know where to start.

Wandering through bridal store after bridal store with my sister was so much fun but for every store I went into I knew I wouldn't buy my dress there.

So why go? To see what looked good on me, what style of dress I liked and get my measurements before I went here;

I followed a pin to this site about a year ago and kept it in my boards, bookmarks and notebooks.

Beautiful, tailored dresses shipped to Australia from the U.S for an average of $350ea.

They cover Brides, Bridesmaids, Flower Girls, Mother of the Bride/Groom too.

I browsed and browsed then browsed seriously and fell in love with this;

For $363.98, this V-neck princess lace wedding dress with beaded belt fell right in with our budget.

Flowers for (Almost) Free

Let's get this blog started with one of my greatest finds so far.

I had no idea what wedding flowers cost getting into this, then I spoke to a florist.
Answer? Way too much.

Usually the best way to save on wedding flowers for the bridal party is to lose the flowers completely. That's what I was going to do for myself, the groom and our flower girl (my entire bridal party haha).

Then I came across these guys;

Beautiful, fresh wedding flowers delivered on the day.

Bridal, Bridesmaid and Flower girl bouquets start at $34.95 with value packages covering the whole party from $199.95.

This is the 10 piece rose package for $349.95.

Not bad, hey?

In the 5 pages of Bridal bouquets I found 2 I would choose without changing the colour and matching bouquets for my flower girl!
